Sports massage and soft tissue therapy

What we do

We provide professional sports massage and soft tissue therapy in the comfort of your own home. Unlike a spa massage, sports massage is a clinical treatment designed to address specific muscle problems, release tension, and support injury recovery and prevention.

Our physiotherapist combines sports massage with a deep understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation — meaning your treatment is targeted, effective, and integrated into a wider plan for your physical health.

Who it helps

  • Athletes and sports enthusiasts — pre-event preparation, post-event recovery, and injury prevention
  • People with chronic muscle tension — neck, shoulder, and back tightness from desk work or daily life
  • Anyone recovering from a soft tissue injury — muscle strains, ligament sprains, and overuse injuries
  • Active individuals — maintaining muscle health and preventing injury during training
  • People with restricted range of movement — improving flexibility and reducing stiffness

What to expect

Your therapist will discuss your symptoms, activity levels, and goals before treatment. They'll assess the affected area and use a combination of techniques tailored to your needs.

Techniques may include:

  • Deep tissue massage: Firm pressure to release chronic muscle tension and adhesions
  • Myofascial release: Sustained pressure on connective tissue restrictions
  • Trigger point therapy: Targeted treatment of muscle knots and referred pain patterns
  • Soft tissue mobilisation: Techniques to improve tissue flexibility and blood flow
  • Stretching: Assisted and active stretches to improve range of movement
  • Exercise prescription: Strengthening and flexibility exercises to complement treatment

More than just massage

Because our sports massage is delivered by a qualified physiotherapist with a Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage, you get the benefit of clinical reasoning alongside hands-on treatment. We'll identify the root cause of your symptoms — not just treat the area that hurts — and give you a plan to prevent them coming back.

Frequently asked questions

Is sports massage painful?

It can be uncomfortable in tight or tender areas, but it shouldn't be unbearable. We'll work within your tolerance and adjust pressure throughout. Some soreness for 24–48 hours after treatment is normal.

Do I need to be sporty to benefit?

No. "Sports massage" is the name of the technique, not the patient. Anyone with muscle tension, stiffness, or soft tissue pain can benefit — whether you're a runner, office worker, or retired.

How often should I have sports massage?

This depends on your needs. For acute problems, we may recommend weekly sessions initially. For maintenance, every 2–4 weeks is common. We'll advise based on your situation.
